Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal works in that the beam passes through the patient's skin and is attracted to the pigment of the hair. The energy passes down the hair shaft and is absorbed by hair follicles that are in the active growth phase, thereby disabling the hair follicle in the deeper layer of the skin. The hair follicles that are in dormant phase are not affected by the treatment. In most cases, minimal pain should be experienced and no anesthesia is required.

Depending on the area being treated, the process may take anywhere from several minutes to several hours to complete. Laser hair removal is an ongoing process that requires multiple sessions because it only affects actively growing hair, and not all hair follicles are active at the same time.

Occasionally patients may experience slight redness of the skin or mild swelling around the hairs
Sunscreen is recommended for any area treated that may be exposed to the sun.

Blonde or gray/white hair is less responsive due to lack of ample pigment in the hair.

Clients must return for six consecutive sessions in order to achieve desired results. Sessions must be within 4-6 weeks of each other.

Intense Pulse Light

IPL is ideal for improving skin tone. The IPL/Photofacial process effectively treats sun damage, sun spots, spider veins, cherry angiomas and Rosacea and gives the skin a softer and more even appearance. Treatments are quick (approximately 30-45 minutes for face).

Any area of the body, except for around the eyes, can be treated.

Skin Tightening

The GentleYag laser creates a beam of high intensity light that penetrates deeply into the skin where it causes a deep heating of tissues and contraction of the skin. The laser beam is pereceded by a short burst of cooling cryogen spray which protects the outer skin and makes the treatment comfortable.

Due to the burst of cooling cryogen spray that precedes the pulse of the laser, the treatment is comfortable. For those who feel any discorfort, topical anesthetic can be utlized.A treatment regimen varies by patient. The exact protocol will be determined after a careful evaluation of your skin. The treatment takes approximately twenty to thirtyminutes to perform.

The skin may be mildy swollen and have a pink color for a few hours after treatment. Makeup can be applied immediately. As with any laser treatment, sun tanning should be avoided before and after the treatment. No downtime is expected after the treatment.Side effects are uncommon, but include dark spots and light spots, which usually resolve.

Spider Vein Removal

Spider veins are those unwanted blood vessels that make their appearance on our skin. Sometimes they appear on our face as facial veins, across our nose, on our cheeks, or along our forehead. In other cases the spread out across our legs, making us insecure about wearing shorts or skirts.

Laser removal of spider veins is a highly effective way to reduce and remove the visible blood vessels in the skin. Spider vein removal over a large area, such as legs, may require a series of 3 to 6 laser treatments for satisfactory results.
